tomorrowland: the elixir of life
Taking place in Boom, Belgium every year since 2005, Tomorrowland is one of the biggest and most notable electronic music festivals in the world. Under the banner of 'The Elixir of Life', the 2016 chapter hosted the world's most iconic DJ's to an audience of 180,000 people over three days in July.
Working for Production Park alongside technical director Tony Bowern of Brilliant Stages, and artistic director Jacqui Pyle of Perry Scenic, I was the project manager responsible for coordinating the manufacture and installation of the scenic fabrication of the main stage.
Measuring over 100m wide and 35m high at its peak, infinitely twisted and intricate in its conceptual design, the project had in excess of a 200 strong skilled workforce ranging from mechanical design engineers, structural engineers, sculptors, painters, carpenters, steel welders and riggers working round the clock over a 3 month period to successfully deliver the project for Tomorrowland.
